EIRP Calculation
 
EIRP is the Effective Isotropic Radiated Power.
 
This is the comparison between the antenna under test and a perfect theoretical omni-directional antenna radiating the  same power in all directions. This is called Isotropic radiation.
 
The reason for EIRP is that the power out of the antenna can be determined by a simple formula based on the power into the antenna and the gain of the antenna:
 
EIRP = Forward transmit power (dB) + Antenna Gain (dB).
