Inmarsat’s new BGAN M2M service available from AST

AST is pleased to announce that February 15th will see the scheduled launch of Inmarsat’s new BGAN M2M service.

This exciting new IP data service utilises the Hughes 9502 terminal to deliver a low cost solution specifically designed for remote machine to machine applications. AST is currently undertaking Beta testing of the service in South Africa and is receiving positive feedback as to its capabilities and reliability.

Designed to meet the needs of customers in remote geographic locations, the service is ideally suited to market sectors such as; retail banking (remote POS machines), oil & gas, utilities & mining.

The service is optimised to support applications sending from 1 MB to 50 MB per terminal per month and offers an economical, low latency solution for remote asset monitoring, data reporting, SCADA and smart metering requirements, promising to provide a global solution to the growing machine to machine market.

As an existing and experienced BGAN Distribution Partner, AST will be able to supply and provision the BGAN M2M service from launch.

 SUPPORTED PARTNERS & CHARITIES
ISR is the lynchpin of modern warfare and the methodology by which it is collected, analysed and disseminated continues to develop as forces encounter new and familiar challenges across air, land and sea in the 21st century. Both the cyber and space domains have seen and continue to see an incremental increase in offensive and defensive activity over recent years and, in these two domains, ISR finds itself yet more relevant. SMi are pleased to announce the 2nd instalment of MilSatCom Asia taking place on the 9th and 10th May 2012 in Singapore. With satellite communications increasing in the region this event will allow fantastic networking opportunities with senior SATCOM professionals from across the region and internationally. The reliance on satellite communication is increasing in Asia, and this event will attract senior SATCOM professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region to one place. Following in the footsteps of our flagship event and Europe’s largest military satellite conference and exhibition, Global MilSatCom. MilSatCom Asia will be a highly regarded niche conference to the Asia-Pacific region. Don't miss the opportunity to attend such an event and discuss the issues affecting the SATCOM community across the region.
