Most involve using VHF and UHF rather than microwave. Jupiter is a good source of radio emissions as it turns out!<br><br>A good telescope shop should be able to get the book for you, or maybe Amazon.uk (I did a quick search but didnt find it).<br>]]>

The receiver will need to be cooled, usually by liquid nitrogen, to ensure that the thermal noise is as low as possible. The chances of doing all this with a TV dish antenna and a PC with a suitable card are therefore slim.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>If you can get the spectrum analyser PC part sorted out then you could use the TV dish antenna to view the signals that it receives but this is just not suitable for Radio Astronomy. The signals from far off distant stars are so small when received here on earth that you need the extremely large antenna described above in order to see anything above the background radiation and noise.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>]]>
