Small Terminal Satellite Communications Training The VSATs Training Course at the University of York.
VSATs - Very Small Aperture Terminals - support a range of highly effective broadband, Internet, and multimedia satellite communications services. The York VSATs Training Course deals with VSAT systems and satellite communications. It takes place at the University of York, York, UK. The dates of the next course at York are to be agreed, but enquiries are constantly welcomed. We also draw your attention to the IET Satellite Communications Summer School which will run 10th - 15th July 2011 in Guildford, Surrey, UK This well-established Continuing Professional Development (CPD) short course provides a technical foundation in small terminal satellite communications together with an appreciation of the latest developments and the understanding to deal with VSATs and their applications. The Course commences by developing a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of satellite links, and moves on to implementation issues and case studies. The York VSATs Course has been running successfully now for 20 years, and is presented by leading experts in the field, drawn from acadaemia, industry, and service providers.
Who should attend : All those requiring a technical understanding of small terminal satcom systems as well as detailed knowledge of current systems design. The course will serve practising engineers and information technologists as well as managers, users and those concerned about the impact of VSATs. Some basic knowledge of telecommunications principles and/or data protocols will be assumed. If you are looking for a practical VSATs Installer Training Course, you should probably explore instead the range of VSATs Training Courses and opportunities offered by the Global VSAT Forum (GVF) or look at those from OmniGlobe.
